There isn't much information on The Pershing Hotel and its ballroom that was located on 63rd and Cottage Grove. Yet, the most notable information provided for the Pershing Ballroom was an album by Jazz pianist Ahmad Jamal called "At the Pershing: But Not for Me". The album was recorded live at the Pershing in 1958 and was reviewed by Jet magazine as a "nationwide hit". The hotel has since been demolished.
